BNC cable network has announced that The Mentalist, its comedy about a fictional psychiatrist with PTSD, will return to the primetime lineup with an eight-episode second season starting on February 8.
The Mentalists 10th season will consist of eight episodes, beginning with the new episode “Mentalism.”
The mentalist has been a favorite among TV critics and fans of the popular Netflix series Mindy Kaling, who will star in the first season of The Mentalis 10th and will serve as a mentor for Kaling and other characters.
The show is the brainchild of series creator and executive producer Joe Weisberg.
“I was thrilled to see ‘The Mentally Ill’ back on the air,” Weisburg said in a statement.
“It’s an incredible honor to reunite with our talented cast of characters and I can’t wait to see them once again.
The mentalist is an Emmy winner, and we’re thrilled to welcome the talented Mindy back as a regular cast member and mentor.
It’s been an amazing experience working with the talented mindy, and I’m very excited for the next chapter.”
The Mentalists Season 2 will be a collaboration between BNC, Mindy’s production company Mindy Productions, and BNC’s studio, the Mindy Network.
The 10th Season will include episodes in both BNC and Mindy productions.
BNC and the Mindys 10th were produced by Mindy Entertainment, which is also the parent company of CBS’ daytime entertainment network, The Mindy Show.
The Mindys 9th season began on December 20, 2016 and ended on January 5, 2017.
The Mindys Season 1 finale was recorded by The Mindies studio, The BNC Studios.
